Salford Active Walk Gets Going with Dragon's Den Funding Model

24 marca 2017

With it often being difficult for startups and tech companies to integrate into the NHS, what's the way forward in commissioning tech funding? Dragon's Den of course! The show inspired Salford CCG on an interesting way of finding and reviewing the best tech innovators to fund a 12 month test of an idea, product or service.

BetterPoints was one of the innovators to pitch and win funding for a 12 months pilot to encourage exercise in Salford. 124 applications were received by Salford Clinical Commissioning Group over the five month process, with 6 being shortlisted and 4 being chosen.

BetterPoints is in good company with  these other innovators:

  • The Guardian Angel Project by the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust
  • Improving Pharmacy Communications in Transition of Care
  • Salford CTZN app for young people by Social Sense

The Salford Active Walk programme starts Tuesday March 28th and will run for a period of 12 months, encouraging people to pledge personal goals and get more active in the Salford area.
